+ Clan Kurayami (暗闇) Significa ‘oscuridad, tinieblas’ Es un clan muy antiguo proveniente de Kirigakure, el clan fue devastado por poseer un Kekkei Genkai llamado Dokusei (毒性) que significa literalmente‘Toxicidad’, todos los miembros del clan poseen la habilidad de transformar su chakra, y volverlo negro (cuando esto ocurre los ojos se vuelven negros) El chakra puede manifestarse en forma líquida o gaseosa. Es altamente nocivo para cualquier organismo vivo. En el caso de un humano, comienza a enfermarse en el acto, su piel se empieza a deteriorar lentamente, así como todo el organismo. Si el afectado por el Dokusei, utiliza alguna técnica que requiera chakra, la enfermedad comenzará a expandirse más rápido y terminaría matándolo.
El Dokusei solo puede frenarse con la sangre de algún miembro del clan Kurayami, inyectándola al afectado por vía intravenosa.
Ningún miembro del clan posee la capacidad de efectuar un jutsu de curación o incluso cualquier jutsu elemental (como viento, tierra, agua, o fuego) ya que no tienen la capacidad.
El clan también recibió el nombre ‘Norowareta ichizoku’ (呪われた一族) ‘ el clan maldito’ justamente por el Dokusei, que era considerado como una peste.
